Barb did get a little extra help from one of the two other family members that lived upstairs from the layout...well, maybe help isn't the right word. Sadie Rothwell was chief Cat and surveyor for the layout.
In August 2012, the Concord Valley & Western RR, pulled up it's tracks, and disbursed it's motive power and cars. Some of it was sold to fellow HO modelers, other parts were given to young up and coming railroaders, and the move was made out of Concord Valley.
The "girls" liked their new digs, especially the new housemate, Dick, even though he's not a railroad buff, he kept us all happy and tolerated the occasional railroad related outings. Sadie & Callie Rothwell have past on, as well as the layout.
There are no plans for a new layout right now, and Barb only has N scale items left. As far as that last AP certificate goes, it all depends... Sadie & Callie Olson, (2 new cats), we believe are part ferret because things always seem to be disappearing. We do go on occasional treasure hunts to find things, so small parts are verboten. But the CV&W RR lives on through this website, with many fond memories.
P.S. Barb finally finish her Ph.D. in 2019 and Barb & Dick did get married in 2020, after 9 years together. What else do you do during a pandemic.
